Glorify God with your business

As Christians, it is important for us to glorify God in all aspects of our lives, including our businesses. While it may be easy to focus on the bottom line and profits, we must remember that our businesses can also be used to serve and honor God. Here are a few ways to glorify God with your business:

  1. Prioritize integrity and honesty in all aspects of your business.

“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Ephesians 4:25

The Bible instructs us to be truthful and just in our dealings with others, and this should be reflected in our business dealings and practices as well. When we do business in an ethical and transparent way, we are able to demonstrate the love and integrity of Christ to others.

  2. Use your business as a platform to serve others.

“'It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

There are many ways we can use our businesses to make a positive impact on the world and communities around us. We can serve others by donating our time and business expertise to charities or partnering with organizations that serve those in need of a helping hand.

  3. Love others and be kind to your employees and clients.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

It is important to love others as God loves—this includes being patient and forgiving. God not only calls us to have a relationship with him, but also calls us to be in community with those around us. What is a relationship without love and kindness?

  4. Use your business to share the word of God.

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2

While it may not be appropriate to directly preach the gospel to our clients, we can still use our businesses as a platform to share the love of Christ through our actions and words. By being kind and respectful to others and being a positive force in our community, we can demonstrate what it means to follow the example of Christ.

  5. Pray for guidance and wisdom in your business decisions.

“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12

Ask God to help you make decisions that align with His will and bring Him glory.

By making sure that our businesses always adhere to these principles, we can not only glorify God, but also make a lasting and positive impact on those in our community. It can be difficult to balance the demands of running a business and spending time with God, because often one requires more time than the other. When we merge the two, we are able to spend the entire day focusing on things that would please God.
